Getting in tune with music at 'Meet the Orchestra'

BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. -- If you're an aspiring musician, or just a lover of music, Syracuse's Symphoria is giving the public a backstage pass to their local orchestra.

Musicians were at Baldwinsville library today giving people the chance to see string and wind instruments up close. It's part of a series of event Symphoria is hosting at local libraries, where you can meet the musicians that make up Syracuse's professional orchestra.

You can listen to the music, and hear stories from the musicians about what orchestra life is like.

If you missed today's event, no need to worry. There are more scheduled throughout January, including:

- NECC (at Dr. Week's Chool): Tue., Jan. 19 @ 9:00 a.m.

- Onondaga Free Library: Tue., Jan. 19 @ 6:30 p.m.

- Mundy Branch: Wed., Jan. 20 @ 5:00 p.m.

- Marcellus Free Library: Wed. Jan. 20 @ 6:30 p.m.

- Liverpool Public Library: Sat. Jan. 23 @ 2:00 p.m.

- NOPL North Syracuse: Sat. Jan. 23 @ 2:00 p.m.

All of this leads up to Symphoria's full "Meet the Orchestra" performance on Feb. 6 at Inspiration Hall in Syracuse.
