Golisano Children's hospital kids get an early Halloween treat
Kids who might not be able to go out for trick-or-treating this year for Halloween had an early celebration Wednesday.
Spirit Halloween hosted a Halloween party for children and their families at the Golisano Children's Hospital.
Kids had their pick of costumes and a chance to paint masks, play games and enjoy some treats.
The Spirit of Children program focuses on making hospital stays less scary for young patients and their families.
Melinda Orsini with Spirit Halloween said making children laugh is the best feeling in the world.
"My favorite thing ever was a boy that came in. He really didn't want to be here, we were able to paint his face and get hims some stuff, and play some games with him," Orisini said. "He came back three or four times that day. He was so excited"
To date, the program has raised more than $197,512 for Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital.
