Haunted Hayride Offering Free Rides to Veterans and First Responders

13th Hour Rising is offering free admission to its Haunted Hayride to all veterans and first responders this season. The Haunted Hayride, voted best in Central New York by New York Haunted Houses, is one of two attractions offered by 13th Hour Rising this month. The "Passage" is a haunted maze that visitors navigate on foot while the Haunted Hayride is experienced from the back of a wagon. Co-owner Fred Mellini says both attractions have been a big hit with visitors. "The response has been wonderful we've had people give us high fives and hugs. People really appreciate it," he says.

13th Hour Rising is located at Chengerian's Tree Land on Merrit Road in Fulton. Both the Haunted Hayride and the Passage open this Friday. Hours are 7pm to 10pm every Friday and Saturday in October. The Haunted Hayride Costs $16. First Responders and Military can ride the Haunted Hayride for free with proof of ID. Melleni, a former Sheriff's Deptuy, says the discount is a way to give back to those who serve.

"It's just a nice way to thank you for your service and community efforts and come out and have some fun," he says.
