SPD identifies 20-year-old woman fatally shot while driving in city

Syracuse Police have identified a woman who was killed in a late night shooting on Syracuse's south side Monday.

According to Syracuse Police, officers responded to the 100 block of Hudson Street — between Tallman Street and Bellevue Avenue — around 10:40 p.m. Monday for a "shots fired" call.

When police arrived at the scene, officers found a 20-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body. The victim was in her vehicle when she was shot and her vehicle then crashed into another vehicle, police said.

The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital by AMR Ambulance where she later died from her injuries. She has since been identified as 20-year-old Marvina Adams, of Syracuse.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident. There is no suspect information available at this time.
