ICYMI in CNY: FitzPatrick plant begins transition under Government oversight

CENTRAL NEW YORK --- The FitzPatrick nuclear power plant in Oswego County is now officially in coast down mode. That means it's slowly shutting down in preparation for refueling in January.

A couple federal agencies are also reviewing the planned sale from Entergy to Exelon. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the Department of Energy must sign off on the sale.

Many of you donated to the United Way's tiny shoebox project, and take a look at the result. Well over 1,500 boxes full of personal items for homeless and other people in need. The United Way plans to give them out ahead of the holidays.
