The 24-year-old is facing a second-degree murder charge for allegedly killing his daughter, Maddox Lawrence.

Lawrence was found Monday afternoon when Baldwinsville Police and Onondaga County Sheriff Deputies responded to a 911 call from the Thrifty Shopper on Downer Street. The caller was a former worker at the store who said she recognized the suspect in the AMBER Alert.

He was taken into custody shortly after and positively identified by police as the child's father.

A search across Baldwinsville ensued throughout the night without success. It resumed Tuesday morning at Syracuse's Inner Harbor where a body believed to be Maddox was recovered just before 12:30 p.m.

Police announced Lawrence would be charged with second-degree murder three hours later at a press conference.
