Leon Festival kicks off at Onondaga Lake Park
LIVERPOOL, N.Y. -- The Leon Festival is an annual celebration for parents and their children, signifying the end of the school year and the beginning of summer fun.
Leon, which is noel spelled backwards, also celebrates the halfway point to Christmas.
The event kicks off today, June 21. It will run from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Organizers said admission is free. Several activities will be available including face painting, a photo booth, balloon animals and a food truck.
There were also be live music performances from local artists according to organizers.
The event will end with a Wegmans Firework Display over the lake at 9:45 p.m.
