Local library goes fine free in 2019
ITHACA, N.Y. —
Good news for book lovers!
The Tompkins County Public Library in Ithaca has eliminated late fees. It's an effort to make sure everyone has access to a good read.
The Library Director says she hopes to encourage people to read more.
Book lovers will still need to pay for lost or damaged materials. Any that are 30 days overdue are assumed lost and you will be billed for them.
Also, the library says they want their books back. You are still responsible for returning them.
