Missing Florida teen found safe in North Syracuse

Authorities say a teen reported missing from Lake City, Florida has been found safe.

New York State Police say 17-year-old Caitlyn Frisina was found in North Syracuse, New York. Florida authorities tell us a red Mercury with Caitlyn and Rian Rodriguez inside, was spotted and stopped by New York State Police on South Bay Road near the Subway parking lot.

The teen was reported missing on Sunday morning, after her parents say she was not in her room after going to bed Saturday night.

Deputies say Frisina was with her father's assistant soccer coach, 27-year-old Rian Rodriguez. The two were seen on several surveillance cameras, traveling along the East Coast.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says Rian was taken into custody without incident. Caitlyn has been detained and her family has been notified, the sheriff's office said.

Caitlyn willingly cooperated with State Police, and troopers said she had no health issues. Her family has been notified, and are on their way to central New York.

Rodriguez is currently being lodged on the fugitive warrant that was issued by Columbia County in Florida. The Columbia County Sheriff's office is determining if there will be any additional charges.
