Mother & daughter charged with wild fight at Syracuse's Nottingham High School

Corinne Monaghan

A Syracuse woman and her daughter were arrested after they caused a wild, dangerous scene at Nottingham High School Friday. The pair barged their way into the school building, police say, to enact revenge on a student who had been fighting with a family member.

Police charged the mother, Corinne Monaghan, 36, with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Her daughter, Rae Shanda Stephens, 17, was charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, attempted assault and more. Both mother and daughter live in Syracuse.

Police say the mother went to Nottingham High to defend her daughter who had a fight Thursday. She brought along another daughter, Stephens, who is not a student at the school. Police say the mother fought a student and her teen daughter charged at the same student with a knife. An officer used a taser on the 17 year old and she dropped the knife just before she got close enough to stab the student.
