MANLIUS, N.Y. — A fire caused extensive damage to a house Tuesday afternoon in Manlius.
According to Onondaga County 911 dispatch, a call came in around 1:15 p.m. for a fire on 7498 Strawberry Lane, off Salt Springs Road in the Town of Manlius.
Manlius Fire Chief Brad Pinsky said neighbors called authorities and said that flames were coming in through the roof of the single-story home.
Fayetteville, DeWitt, South Onondaga, Chittenango, Fabius, Minoa and East Syracuse were among the fire departments to report to the scene.
Fire crews were a long way out from any water source so the first departments on the scene made a quick hit on the flames the best they could do while they had to wait for more water.
Pinsky told CNYCentral that the home is a total loss.
No injuries were reported in the fire.
The chief added that it is unfortunate to have this level of fire so close to the holidays.
A cause for the fire has not been determined at this time.
