86-year-old Clara Hill was asleep in her home when she was startled awake.

"I heard bullets and I got up and went to the living room window and I saw somebody laying over there right there,” Hill said.

Hill is stunned after learning an employee was killed at Eddie's Eagle Market just across from the street from here.

On Wednesday, police say a masked man entered the store with a handgun.

Police say he and the employee ended up in a fight, which spilled out onto the sidewalk before the shooting. A second young man approached the victim, and shot him in the back, investigators said. 41-year-old Asim Musa was pronounced dead at the hospital.

“Cause I'm 86 years old, a lot of things are happening it makes me afraid,” Hill said.

Hub Liquor is down the street from Eddie's Eagle Market. The owner, Jay Patel says his store was closed at the time of the shooting. It wasn't until Thursday morning when he saw police and investigations at the store.

Patel says he is saddened to hear about what happened so close by, but is not worried about his safety.

"We're safe here, we got a lot people who come here who are all regulars. So, we know them by heart, we know them all like that,” Patel said.

Neighbors near Eddie’s Eagle Market say the victim 41-year-old Asim Musa was a hard worker.

"I’m so sorry for their loss because he was such a nice person, didn’t deserve to lose his life like that,” Dana Smith said.
