New park feature aims to help children with language skills
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Early Childhood Alliance of Onondaga has installed five new interactive signs at Syracuse's Skiddy Park.
The ECA said the "Talking is Teaching" signs will allow parents to engage in language-based activities with their children to promote early brain development.
The ECA launched Too Small to Fail's national "Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing" campaign in Onondaga County last year.
The $8,500 sign development and installation project was funded through a grant from St. Joseph's Health, the ECA said.
The signs were put in place Tuesday at the park located on Tioga Street on the city's west side.
