New program to help moms avoid winter loneliness
CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. —
The Cayuga County WIC program has announced a new program for families to connect with one another.
The winter months can often cause loneliness, especially for new mothers or stay-at-home mothers, the Cayuga County Health Department said.
The Department has started a new walking group to support moms and their families get through the winter months by allowing the opportunity for moms to exercise and socialize.
The group will meet at the Fingerlakes Mall in the Business Center room on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The start date for the walking group is Saturday Jan. 12th.
The Health Department said the program is free to attend and open to current WIC participants, including moms, dads, grandparents or legal guardians and those interested in learning more about WIC.
