Nurse accused of stealing iPhone while patient was in the restroom, troopers say
DEWITT, N.Y. —
A nurse at a DeWitt doctor's office is accused of taking a patient's iPhone while the patient was using the restroom.
According to New York State Police, Kelly Churney, 39, was arrested for petit larceny after allegedly taking an iPhone 6 plus from a patient's purse while.
Troopers said the smart phone's value is estimated at $749.
The doctor's office was helpful with the investigation and officials were able to obtain video that showed the suspect leaving the exam room with the phone, state police said.
Churney was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the town of DeWitt court on July 3, according to officials.
