Officials continue to search for missing mother and baby in Sodus
SODUS, N.Y. —
A large law enforcement presence as the Wayne County Sheriff's office searches a farm property in Sodus for a young mother and her one-year-old son.
Kimberly Folino lives nearby and says she's seen police activity all day.
"I’ve seen cop cars going up and down the road today throughout the day and searching it looked like they were searching for someone," Folino said.
Deputies were searching for something, but they say they can not confirm what, if anything, they have found after a full day of searching.
The scope of the investigation and the presence of this many investigators is uncommon in this area.
"No it doesn’t happen in this area, and my father did live on that road for quite a while, and it’s always been very quiet down there," Folino said.
There is growing concern for the well being of the mother and her child. Family members said it is not like her to go a day without being in contact with the family.
"It’s a quiet neighborhood and when you see all these cop cars going up and down the road it kind of makes you wonder," Folino added.
The sheriff says deputies will be patrolling the area all night to make sure it is secured and the investigation will continue in the morning.
