One found dead after fire at North Syracuse home; cause under investigation

NORTH SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Crews are investigating a fatal fire in North Syracuse.

It happened Wednesday afternoon on the 300 block of Belmore Drive. Officials said a neighbor called 911 reporting flames and smoke coming from the home.

North Syracuse Fire Chief Christopher Strong tells us one person was found dead inside the home. The victim has not been identified at this time.

The home also suffered smoke, fire and water damage in the blaze.
