SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Sunday night, Syracuse Police were called to a shooting in the area of the 300 block of Otisco Street.
Police were dispatched to the area just after 11:00 PM Sunday night for a loud noise complaint as well as a person down. Before their arrival, Police were called and told there would be gunfire at the Father's Day gathering.

The two will be releasing a joint statement with further information at an undetermined time.

In addition to the responding Officer's shot, multiple other handguns had been fired from the crowd, totaling 4 shots overall. Police do not yet know if it was the officer's bullet that hit Porter.

The officer who fired the shot has been placed on administrative leave while the SPD and D.A.s office investigate the incident.
