Pennsylvania woman on snowmobile strikes tree in Oneida County

A Pennsylvania woman was injured in a snowmobile accident in Oneida County early Sunday morning.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, Brittany Werner, 20, of Sciota, Pennsylvania, was operating a snowmobile on snowmobile trail C4 in the Town of Annsville when she failed to properly turn on Trail C41 and struck a tree.

Werner sustained injuries to her hip and left arm and was transported from the scene by a rescue sled operated by the Taberg Fire Department, authorities said.

She was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Utica for evaluation.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Snowmobile patrol unit investigated the incident with the assistance of the Sheriff's road patrol, Taberg Fire Department, AmCare Ambulance and the TC Riders Snowmobile Club.
