17-year-old killed in Utica shooting

The man killed in a shooting in Utica Sunday night has been identified as 17-year-old Stefan Medina, according to Utica Police.

The deadly shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Elizabeth Street near Hubbell Street, police said.

When officers arrived on scene the Utica Fire Department was already treating Medina for gunshot injuries.

Medina was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where he later died.

This is the seventh homicide in the City of Utica in 2018.
