Watertown Police identify suspect in nightclub shooting
WATERTOWN, N.Y. —
Watertown Police have identified the suspect in the early morning shooting at a nightclub on Franklin Street.
According to police, Julio Landron-Sanchez, 31, is charged with five counts of assault in the second degree and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
Officers were called to "Club Rio" on Franklin Street around 1:20 a.m Saturday. Police were told multiple people were hit by gunfire.
Investigators say Landron-Sanchez was seen running from the scene. Officers found him in the 200 block of Franklin Street, and he was taken to the police station for questioning. Police believe the weapon used was also recovered.
According to officials, five victims were taken to Samaritan Medical Center. One was transferred to Upstate University Hospital. Officials say all five victims have been treated and released.
New York State Police and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office assisted on the scene.
Landron-Sanchez is scheduled to be arraigned in City Court Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
