ONEIDA, N.Y. -- A Durhamville man is facing more charges for incident last month in Oneida.
Police say 22-year-old Shawn D. Masse, from Broad Street in Durhamville, was arrested at about 1:30 a.m. on February 18 after being spotted by a police officer. Masse was wanted on for charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, and when police went to take him into custody Masse allegedly had heroin on him, resisted arrest and had a loaded .38 handgun tucked in his waistband, along with hypodermic needles in his pocket.
Now police say the gun Masse had on him was stolen during a burglary in Oneida the day before, and an X-Box gaming system found in his backpack was also allegedly stolen. Police say the serial number of the weapon had been scratched out.
Masse was originally charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a weapon. On March 11 charges of criminal possession of stolen property and defacement of a weapon were added.
Masse is being held at the Madison county Jail.
