Police: Teen charged with stealing 12-year-old's bicycle at knife point

A 14-year-old man was charged Saturday with stealing a 12-year-old boy's bicycle at knife point, police said.

A 14-year-old suspect was arrested Saturday for allegedly stealing a boy's bicycle at knife point, according to Syracuse Police.

The suspect was charged with robbery in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

Police responded to the 200 block of Taft Avenue in Syracuse at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in regards to a robbery investigation. A 12-year-old boy reported that he was robbed at knife point by a 14-year-old male suspect, police said. The boy said the suspect threatened to stab the victim and then stole the victim's bicycle. The victim was not injured, police said.

Officers located the suspect at his residence and was arrested without incident. The stolen bicycle was also recovered, but had been damaged.

The suspect was lodged at the Hillbrook Juvenile Detention Center pending his arraignment.
