Police: Two teenagers shot while walking on West Bissell Street
SYRACUSE, N.Y. —
Two teenagers were shot on West Bissell Street Sunday afternoon, according to Syracuse Police.
Officers responded to the 100 block of West Bissell Street near South Avenue just before 2:00 p.m for a shots fired call. While officers were at the scene, they were told two victims had arrived at Upstate University Hospital.
When police arrived at the hospital, they met with a 15-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the back, and a 17-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to his arm. Officials say their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
The victims told police they were walking in the area of West Bissell Street when they were shot. Police say there is no suspect description available.
Officers did recover a handgun from the scene. Officials say it will be sent to the crime lab for testing.
