Remington gets $47 million contract to make guns for Philippines

Congressman Richard Hanna says Remington Outdoor Company has been awarded a $47 million contract to produce more than 50,000 R4 carbine rifles for the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Hanna announced Monday that the work will be done at Remington Arms in the Mohawk Valley town of Ilion, with components from Remington's facilities and suppliers across 20 states.

The work will begin immediately and be completed in 2014.
