Star guard Tyus Battle will officially return to Syracuse University for the 2018-2019 season, according to a tweet from Syracuse University Basketball.

In a statement, Battle says he feels it is in his best interest to focus on his game while earning his degree.

Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports and Jeff Goodman of ESPN both reported Wednesday evening that Tyus Battle will return for his junior year at Syracuse. Battle had declared for the NBA Draft without an agent.

In his sophomore year, Battle led the Orange to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. During the regular season, the Edison, N.J., native averaged 39 minutes and 19.2 points per game.

Battle says he plans on re-entering the draft next year.
