Road rage arrest: Driver accused of pointing gun at another vehicle

Chad A. Rickard, 30, is accused of pointing a semi-automatic handgun at a driver in another vehicle.

A man has been arrested for allegedly pointing a handgun at the driver of another vehicle on the New York State Thruway.

State Police arrested Chad A. Rickard, 30, from Fort Wayne.

It is alleged that Rickard was involved in a road rage incident and is accused of pointing a semi-automatic handgun at the driver of another vehicle.

The suspect vehicle was observed by Thruway Troopers and was subsequently stopped at Exit 38 of the New York State Thruway in Liverpool, according to State Police.

Troopers said Rickard was taken into custody without incident and charged with possessing a .45 caliber handgun and menacing.

Rickard was transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center for centralized arraignment.
