Rochester group selling discounted bridal gowns to help girls go to prom
One group in Rochester is making sure brides-to-be in Central New York don't go without a gown on their wedding day.
A Rochester non-profit group will host a bridal gown clearance sale in two and a half weeks. More than 500 designer bridal gowns — some worth more than $1,000 — will be discounted up to 75% during the sale.
The event takes place at the former Alfred Angelo bridal store on Ridgeway Avenue in Rochester from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th.
The donated dresses were seized in a bankruptcy settlement.
Money from the sale will go to "The Fairy Godmothers of Greater Rochester," which helps young girls attend prom.
