Rome sex offender charged with engaging in oral sex with child

A Rome sex offender is accused of engaging in sexual acts with a child.
State Police say 42-year-old Benji Dyer, of 401 Healy Avenue, engaged in oral sexual conduct with a child younger than 17. Dyer was arraigned in Rome City Court and sent to the Oneida County Jail without bail.
He is a level 2 sex offender, according to the New York Sex Offender registry.
Dyer's previous conviction in 1994 involved the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Oneida County.
