Rome woman facing aggravated DWI charges had son in the car, police say

A Rome woman was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after allegedly driving while intoxicated with her son in the car, according to the Rome Police Department.

Officers say they received a suspicious vehicle call to the McDonald's on Black River Boulevard in the city of Rome where the car was in the drive-thru. Police say the driver was believed to be intoxicated.

Officials located the car in the 1900 block of Black River Boulevard and pulled the vehicle over. Police say Sara Webber was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was charged with driving while intoxicated, which is a misdemeanor.

According to police, Webber's 10-year-old son was in the car at the time. Webber was additionally charged with endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated driving while intoxicated- Leandra's Law.

Webber was processed on charges and is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court at a later date.
