SPD asking for help finding murder suspect, say he's likely 'armed and dangerous'

Jovon M. McGloun/ Syracuse Police

Syracuse Police are asking for a man suspected of fatally shooting another man in the back earlier this week.

Syracuse Police say they're looking for 24-year-old Jovon M. McGloun. He's wanted for murder for the death of Wynban C. Goddard, 26, earlier this week, according to detectives.

In addition to the being wanted for murder, detectives say there are active warrants against McGloun for second-degree Menacing and fourth-degree Criminal Mischief.

Police say they have been trying to locate McGloun, but thus far those efforts have failed. Police caution that McGloun should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

If anyone spots McGloun, police ask that they call 911.

Police responded to a shooting complaint on April 16th just after 5 p.m. on Lodi Street, near E. Division St. There they found Goddard suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.

Goddard was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He died shortly thereafter.
