Support pours in for family of Yorkville mother, daughter killed in house fire

An online fundraiser has been set up to offset medical and funeral costs for the family of the 7-year-old girl and her mother who were killed in a house fire in Yorkville last week.

Taylor Mishlanie, a first-grade student at Marcy Elementary, died from her injuries after being pulled from the home by first responders. Her mother Heather was taken to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries as well.

Family friend Debbie Price said the two were inseparable.

"When you see Heather, you see Taylor, and when you see Taylor, you see Heather. They did everything together," Price said.

At the hospital, family members were given the option to donate Heather's organs. They made the decision with Heather's selfless nature in mind.

"They knew that everything was about other people to her. She was always right there when somebody needed something. They just knew that this was something that she would want," Price said.

The family has been overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from the community.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
