Suspect sought by police after taking money from self-checkout at Rome Walmart (New York State Police)

New York State Police in Oneida County are seeking help identifying a suspect involved in taking money from a Walmart.

According to police, a male suspect was captured on video taking $60 from the change dispenser of a self-checkout register at the Rome store location.

The owner requested $60 with the "cash back" option and accidentally left it in the change dispenser.

The man can be seen on video pocketing the money only seconds after the owner left the register area and he did not make any attempt to locate or notify the owner.

If anyone can identify the male in the surveillance photos above, is asked to contact the New York State Police at 315-366-6000.
