Syracuse company notifying customers about paperwork spilled on highway
Syracuse/Henrietta, N.Y. (WHAM) - A lawn care company that spilled thousands of pieces of personal paperwork for Syracuse customers along a highway near Rochester is continuing efforts to contact those affected customers.
On Friday, a box carrying service agreements for TruGreen Lawn Care customers fell off a truck driving along Route 390 near the East Henrietta Road exit.
Representatives said 90 percent of the paperwork was cleaned up immediately and additional items left behind were picked up by Friday night.
Much of the paperwork that was found had a Highpoint Lawn Service letterhead on it. TruGreen representatives said they have recently merged with the company.
On Monday, a spokesperson for TruGreen said company representatives spent the weekend identifying affected customers. At this point, only Highpoint customers in Syracuse with last names beginning with S-Z appeared to have been affected. Workers are matching up the paperwork with electronic files and will be reaching out to affected customers this week.
