Syracuse man arrested for possession of over nine grams of heroin, police say
Syracuse, N.Y. —
A Syracuse man was arrested for possession of over nine grams of heroin Wednesday evening police said.
According to the Syracuse Police Department, officers responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint at 608 First North Street, upon arrival they smelled burning marijuana from the car Wednesday evening.
Randall Driver, 29, was removed from the vehicle and was found with a loaded Phoenix Arms HP22 .22 caliber semiautomatic handgun and was taken into custody without incident, officers said.
Upon investigation, officers found 232 glassine envelopes containing heroin with an approximate weight of over nine grams.
Driver was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degrees, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third, fourth, and seventh degrees and unlawful possession of marihuana.
He was sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center pending his arraignment.
