Syracuse man under arrest for possession of illegal drugs

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A Syracuse man is behind bars on numerous drug charges.

Police were called to West Kennedy Street near Midland Avenue on Saturday at 11:41 P.M. for a weapons complaint.

Upon arrival, officers say they found 26-year-old Maurice Crawford in a parked car that smelled like marijuana.

After further investigation, Crawford was found to be in possession of 16 grams of crack cocaine and 2.5 grams of marijuana. Crawford was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. He was lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending his arraignment.
