Syracuse Police looking for suspect in jewelry store larceny
SYRACUSE, N.Y. —
Syracuse Police are attempting to identify the suspect involved a larceny at a jewelry store Monday in Syracuse.
According to police, an officer responded to the Mars Jewelry Store at 2519 James St. in regards to a larceny complaint. When the officer arrived, the store owner advised that a man had just stolen a ring from the store. The owner said that the suspect came in and asked to look at rings. When the suspect had a ring in his hand, he suddenly ran out of the store.
The store owner said the ring was valued at $1,800 and described it as a 14 ct. white gold, with assorted diamonds.
Police describe the suspect as a black man in his 20s, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a thin goatee. He was also wearing an orange hooded sweatshirt with an "S" on the front, a black knit winter hat and blue jeans.
