Syracuse teen arrested for heroin, cocaine possession
SYRACUSE, N.Y. —
A Syracuse teen was arrested for possessing heroin and cocaine on Friday, according to Syracuse Police.
Police observed a group of men loitering in Schoeneck Court around 5:20 p.m. Friday, and when they approached the group, one officer observed a man throw an empty Cheetos bag on the ground.
Police picked up the discarded bag and found 50 heroin packets (1.95 grams) and two plastic bags of gelatin capsules containing cocaine (10 grams) inside.
The man who threw the bag containing the drugs was identified as Isaiah Ginty, 19, police said. He was taken into custody without incident.
Ginty was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, and Littering, police said.
He was sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center pending his arraignment.
