Syracuse University basketball fans rally behind Tim Green
As Colgate took on Syracuse at the Carrier Dome on November 21, fans were concentrated on the game.
Many also thinking about former Syracuse University football player Tim Green’s diagnosis of ALS.
"Very sad I remember him playing in college,” said Jay Lawrence.
Jay Lawrence attended the Syracuse vs. Colgate game with his son and grandson.
While walking up the hill he told them both stories of how much of a legend Tim Green was in his playing days.
"You kind of knew then that he was going to do you know well in the future. Obviously, a road scholar professional football player writer lawyer,” said Lawrence.
Syracuse University fans said when they heard the news, they could not believe the health crisis was happening to Tim Green.
"It was very moving story it's just heart breaking he's such a true guy and it sticks to the community and has done a lot for the community,” said Maria Starr.
"It's sad to see things like that happen to prominent people but it's a disease we haven't found a cure for they're working on it now,” said John Artz.
Tim Green’s many fans are encouraged by his vow to fight his illness and raise awareness and money to hopefully, one day cure it.
"I think we should rally man. He's a Cuse to the bone so well come together and hopefully raise some money and get a cure,” Starr said.
Tim Green has ‘Orange Nation behind him, cheering him on in the fight for his life.
