The Week Ahead, February 17, 2019

It's a holiday week for many because of schools' winter break, but there's a lot coming up in the Week Ahead in Central NY.

It's a week that starts with a holiday, and, for many, a week off because of school winter break. There's still a lot going on in Central NY. Take a look at some of the events and stories we'll be watching for you in The Week Ahead:

Monday may be a holiday...but crews will be working, moving a just assembled modular home from a lot at the old DeJulio's on Syracuse’s Burnet Avenue, to its permanent place on Hawley Avenue, where Home Headquarters will put in the finishing touches for a first-time homebuyer.

Also Monday, the Syracuse Zoo's Teddy Bear Clinic...first aid for teddies and other plush toys...
And Monday starts Downtown Dining Weeks...3 course lunches and dinners at reduced prices thru the beginning of March.
Tuesday, announcement of a hundred million dollar proposal to help area not for profits take care of infrastructure plumbing and new roofs, in their faclities
Wednesday, Rome's African American heritage, and its connection with the old Griffiss Airbase-- at the Rome Historical Society in the evening.
Thursday...Halfway to the can buy all day ride and valet parking discount deals online, starting six am.
At the Fairgrounds...the New York Farm Show ...six buildings full of over 400 exhibitors Thursday thru Saturday. Its the biggest indoor farm exhibition in the Northeast.
And funeral services for Syracuse Auxiliary Bishop Thomas Costello---starting Thursday afternoon at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The funeral is there, Friday at 11am.
Sunday...the Lake Effect half marathon, and a new quarter marathon at Onondaga Lake Park.
And Sunday is Green Beer Sunday on Syracuse's Tipperary Hill. The tanker parade is at noon...partying goes on at Coleman's into the evening....
