‘There’s a lot of trauma in the community’: Syracuse Deputy Mayor talks city violence

Syracuse Deputy Mayor Sharon Owens sat down in the NBC3 studio to open up about the frustrations over violence in the city after five people, including and 8-year-old girl, were injured in a shooting Thursday night.

Owens says, “A small portion of our community is holding the rest of us hostage and we have to say enough. We have to say that the streets and the community and the residences are ours.”
