'Seinfeld's' Jason Alexander to direct musical at Syracuse Stage
Tony-Award winning actor and co-star of the sitcom “Seinfeld” will direct a musical at Syracuse stage.
Jason Alexander has been tapped to direct “The Last Five Years,” written and composed by Jason Robert Brown.
The musical will run from May 29—June 26, 2019.
According to a release from Syracuse Stage, artistic director Robert Hupp said he’s pleased Alexander will share his talent with the Syracuse Stage audience.
“I’m delighted that Jason Alexander will helm ‘The Last Five Years’ for us this spring,” Hupp said. “Jason and I worked together at my previous theatre and we’ve been working since I arrived in Syracuse to find dates that could work for Jason to direct at Syracuse Stage.”
Alexander, best known for his role as "George Costanza" on the hit TV comedy "Seinfeld," won the 1989 Tony Award for Best Lead Actor in a Musical for “Jerome Robbins’ Broadway.”
The show is being added to Syracuse Stage’s 2018-2019 season.
