Two arrested on drug charges after traffic stop in Syracuse
Two people are facing charges after a traffic stop in Syracuse.
According to New York State police, troopers did a vehicle stop on Tuesday, October 16th on Onondaga Avenue in Syracuse. Police say Christie Menkins, 43, of Phoenix had crack cocaine. She was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree. She was released on an appearance ticket.
Officials also say that Leroy Giles, 27, of Syracuse, had marijuana. During the investigation, troopers say Giles said he had multiple bags of cocaine. Giles was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third and seventh degrees.
Troopers say he was taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
