Two car accident in Westmoreland result of running a red light

A two car accident that occurred on Friday Nov. 3 around 6:10 p.m., was the result of running a red light, according to the Oneida County Sheriff's office.

The accident occurred at the intersection of East Main Street and State Route 233 in Westmoreland, deputies said.

Frank A. Saviola, 41, of the Bronx, was heading west on East Main Street when he failed to stop for the red light, according to the sheriff's office.

Saviola traveled through the red traffic signal, and the rear portion of the driver’s side of his car was struck, deputies said.

Deputies thanked community members for stepping forward as witnesses to the accident.
