Two people hospitalized after shooting, stabbing at barbershop in Syracuse

The incident happened around 9 p.m. on Midland Ave.

Two people were injured in a shooting and stabbing incident Monday evening on Syracuse's south side.

According to Syracuse Police, officers responded to the 2200 block of Midland Avenue around 9 p.m. Monday near Finest Cutz Barbershop and Divine Beauty Salon.

Officers said they met with a 26-year-old who suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and a 27-year-old male who suffered lacerations to his left leg and back after being hit and cut with a knife.

According to police, the suspects are described as two black males, in dark clothing with dark colored masks. Officials said the suspects took two cellular phones and a small amount of cash and took off on foot on West Corning Ave.

The victims were taken to Upstate University Hospital and their injuries are non-life threatening said police,
