United Way of CNY extending fundraising to 'Bridge the Gap'

The United Way that serves the Syracuse area is extending this year's fundraising campaign, and reaching out to 'new donors'

The United Way of Central New York, which covers the Syracuse area, is doing an early winter fundraising campaign to make up the shortfall on its regular fundraiser.

Steve Gorczynski, who chairs the United Way Board, was our guest on Saturday's Weekend Today in Central NY, and says the 'Bridge the Gap' effort is aimed in part at non-traditional United Way donors (the regular campaign works through area employers, and workers are encouraged to directly from their paychecks)...

The Bridge the Gap funds will be used locally to fund 88 critical programs at 33 local agencies, aimed at improving the lives of area residents. If enough money is not raised, the local help agencies that get program funding from United Way will be cut.

Donations can be made to the United Way : Area Wegmans stores are also taking donations in register areas.
The Deadline is March 3rd.
