Volunteers set out to build new elementary school playground in Baldwinsville

Volunteer work starts at 8 a.m. Aug. 10th 2018.

Palmer Elementary School in the Baldwinsville Central School district is getting a little TLC.

Volunteers, along with school officials, are expected to help build a new playground for the elementary school.

Assembly and installation starts at 8:00 a.m. Aug. 10.

The current equipment is out of date and at least 25 years old and has to be replaced before it becomes a safety concern.

The Palmer playground is the last of three in the district to be replaced this summer.

Earlier this summer Van Buren and Reynolds elementary schools' playgrounds were replaced with the help of each school's PTA and volunteers in order to save money.

Over the next two years the district's other playgrounds will be replaced.

The school district has started with its oldest playgrounds first.
