Wanted murder suspect believed to have passed through Upstate New York

The U.S. Marshals-District of Vermont is currently searching for a man wanted for murder and sexual assault on a minor, and think he could be in the Upstate New York area.

Leroy Headley, is wanted for the murder of his longtime partner and mother of his two children. In addition, he is wanted for a Sexual Assault on a Minor and Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.

On May 3, 2018, Headley's longtime partner was found shot and killed in their shared residence in South Burlington, Vermont. After the murder, he fled the state.

U.S. Marshals say they believe he came through Albany. His car was found there shortly after the killing, but now think he could have moved throughout Upstate New York.

Headley, who is originally from Jamaica, has ties across the United States, Jamaica and Canada.

According to officials, it is believed that he is living under an assumed name, and may have befriended people under an alias. They also say he may have shaved his head or otherwise changed his appearance, and should be considered armed and dangerous.

The U.S. Marshals are offering a reward of up tip $5,000.00 for information that leads to his arrest.
