City of Syracuse crews worked through blowing snow and frigid temperatures to repair a broken water main near Syracuse University.

A water main break was discovered on Harrison St., a main traffic route to the Carrier Dome Saturday afternoon, impacting traffic to the Pitt-Syracuse basketball game.

On Monday, the City of Syracuse tweeted that the break was repaired.

Harrison was closed between Irving Avenue and Elizabeth Blackwell Street, which is near Upstate University Hospital.

The break also impacted water service to area residents and businesses.

The Veterans Administration Hospital had low water pressure. Staffers distributed bottled water to all as a stop gap.
