SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The fourth annual Wednesday Walk Season begins June 13th.
The Downtown Committee of Syracuse, Inc. is partnering with several Downtown health-conscious organizations to present the return of the free series, exploring the unique amenities Downtown Syracuse has to offer, while encouraging exercise. Four walks are planned for the current season. The first walk of the season steps off Wednesday, June 13th at Noon from Clinton Square and will last for about 45-minutes. Participants are encouraged to meet at the Jerry Rescue Monument. The theme of the walk is focused around the urban forest. Educators from Cornell Cooperative Extension will put Wednesday Walkers' tree identification skills to the test.
All walks are free, guided tours, led by Downtown community leaders and fitness experts. Each walk is built around a different theme, designed to educate participants about architecture, art, parks, history and more. The 2018 Wednesday Walk Series highlights Urban Art, Church Architecture, Street Games and more. All walks step off from Clinton Square at either 12:00 Noon (lunchtime) or 5:30 pm (early evening).
